1      lbs mussels

1½ lbs of shrimp

1½ lbs scallop

1 lb shark

1-½ lbs of sausage

1 ½ lbs chicken – chunked

3 tbs, diced garlic

2 cups rice

5-½ cups liquid (2 fish bullion cubes or fish stock).

2        Tbls turmeric

1 small jar pimento

2-½ oz olive oil

3        Bay leaves

1 onion (small minced)

2 large tomatoes, diced

10 peppercorns

1 pkg frozen peas

Scrub mussels and steam open, (remove immediately), set aside and reserve fluids

Clean shrimp, chop chicken and shark into one-inch squares.

Crush garlic and crush bay leaf, peppercorns, and turmeric, add some fluid.

Hear paella pan and brown sausage; chop up while cooking in pan

Brown chicken, fish and sauté shrimp lightly.

Sauté onion and garlic, push aside and add rice.  Add tomatoes and stir briefly.  Add spices, chicken, sausage and shark.  Add fluids, cover with foil and cook rice and other ingredients for 15 minutes.  Five minutes prior to completion add peas, pimentos, shrimp, scallops and mussels.  Serve with lemon slices.

This dish can also be made on the Weber BBQ (preferably on the beach at Pismo).  When cooking rice lift off grill by putting 2 bricks under pan so rice does not stick to bottom or paella pan.
