We’ve mentioned an organization called Kiva a few times on this blog.

This non-profit coordinates with banks that issue micro-loans to people throughout the world.  The micro loans help to alleviate poverty and enable people, many of them women, to support their families and local communities through various entrepreneurial endeavors.

For all of these reasons and more, the mission of Kiva seems to resonate with many of us, and even moreso when remembering Chole and her life’s work as a Peace Corps volunteer, educator and nurse.

The process is easy and actually allows you to select and learn about the loan’s beneficiary. Most loans are very small, and contributions can be donated in any amount starting from just $25.

In Chole’s memory, a Chole’s Quilt Team has been established at the Kiva website. Please click on the Kiva logo below if you are interested in learning more about Kiva or would like to support our team.
